Harvesting Sunlight on the
High Plains

Goose Creek Solar Project, LLC is pleased to introduce a proposed 300 MW solar electric generation facility and co-located 200 MW energy storage facility in Cheyenne County, Colorado. Together, these facilities can deliver many positive benefits to the local community.

The solar and energy storage project is both an economic development opportunity for greater Cheyenne County and a significant revenue development opportunity for the local tax jurisdictions that deliver key services to residents.

The project will also benefit regional electricity consumers and the environment by generating clean, low-cost renewable energy and providing vital backup power that increases electric grid resilience and reduces outages.

Benefits of Solar

  • New property tax revenue for Cheyenne County School District RE-5, Cheyenne County, Keefe Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne Manor Nursing Home, and other tax jurisdictions.

  • Direct and indirect economic impacts from project spending on goods, services, and wages, primarily during construction.

  • Requires minimal water consumption during construction and operations.

  • Will not increase local traffic during operations or create a burden on municipal and education services (e.g., schools, hospitals, nursing homes, etc.).

  • Clean, renewable energy has a reduced impact on the environment compared to traditional options.

  • Provides a low-cost, abundant, and sustainable generation resource to help stabilize electricity costs.

  • Offsets carbon emissions from fossil fuel power plants and contributes to the diversification of the region’s and nation’s electricity grid.

  • Quiet renewable energy generator without emissions.

  • Energy storage facility provides flexibility, resilience, and other benefits to the electric grid.
